  • What is the difference between 5052 and 6061 aluminum?

    5052 is a non-heat-treatable alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments, and superior formability. It is often used for sheet metal work. 6061 is a heat-treatable structural alloy that offers much higher strength and excellent machinability, making it the standard choice for CNC machined parts and structural framing.

  • What do the temper designations like "T6" or "H32" mean?

    Tempers indicate how the aluminum was processed to achieve its final hardness. “H” tempers (like H32) apply to non-heat-treatable alloys (like 3003 or 5052) and indicate strain hardening (cold working). “T” tempers (like T6) apply to heat-treatable alloys (like 6061) and indicate the material has been solution heat-treated and artificially aged for maximum strength.

  • Can you supply color-coated aluminum coils for roofing?
